The Headless Editor
I spent three years working as Editor at Make Bank, a social project fighting creative poverty in UK high schools. During this time, I interviewed over 100 designers, artists and makers about the obstacles they had overcome while pursuing a creative career and the lessons they learnt along the way.
I spoke to creatives from a wide range of disciplines, backgrounds and experiences. We put particular focus on telling the stories of creatives who belong to underrepresented groups within the industry, including LGBTQ+, BIPOC, disabled and working-class creatives.
The most rewarding part of my job was hearing how pursuing their passion had benefited each of their lives, both personally and professionally. Whether art helped them with their mental health, connect with a community of like-minded makers, build their self-confidence or recognise their diversity as a strength, each of their stories is a testament to the true power of creativity.
Below is a curated selection of the stories I helped tell during my time as Editor.

The Headless Copywriter
I have been working with words for ten years. During that time, I have written a lot of copy, which has appeared on:
Websites
Social media captions
Explainer documents
Creative briefs
Podcast & video transcripts
Newsletters
Printed leaflets & programmes
Blog posts
I specialise in tackling subjects which may, at first, appear daunting or exclusive, such as navigating a career in the creative industries or engaging with local heritage. Using accessible language, I break these big topics down, restructuring them into copy that is engaging, insightful and easy to digest.
