The Rainbow Wishlist

The rainbow has been a symbol of LGBTQ+ pride ever since Gilbert Baker designed the iconic rainbow flag 40 years ago. Fun fact: the original flag design had 8 colours rather than 6. Each hue had its own meaning; pink was for sex, red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sunlight, green for nature, turquoise for magic, blue for peace and violet for spirit. Nowadays the official pride rainbow has 2 less colours but is more popular than ever, used to decorate celebrations during pride season all over world.

Type With Pride

Over the last few days of June, which is officially LGBTQ+ Pride Month, I I have a few pride-themed posts planned. Today’s is all about a colourful typographic project which celebrates the LGBTQ+ community’s iconic rainbow flag and it’s creator. Type With Pride celebrates LGBTQ+ activist and creator the rainbow flag, Gilbert Baker, who sadly passed away last year. To mark his passing and celebrate his life, NewFest and NYC Pride teamed up with Fontself to design a new typeface in his honour.

Papergang Box No.22

After a very busy end to 2017, I have taken a bit of blogging/ social media break over the last few week. Today though, I am back with a classic Papergang unboxing! This is actually December's box as I forgot to change my delivery address whilst I was back home in Glasgow for Christmas. This silly mistake meant I got a shiny new box of stationery as soon as I got back to Dundee - the best way ever to be welcomed home!

After a post talking all about me and my own work, today I am going back to something I am much more comfortable with - oohing over beautiful stationery! I feel a little late to the paper party with this unboxing as this box actually came out in June but it took it’s time getting to me so I only received it a few days ago. July’s box is actually on it's way to me too now so I better get a move on and tell you all about box 16.
